Designing this resort home was a true journey of discovery, more ad-libbed than scripted. The style direction from the outset was to be retro inspired, but fresh and modern in its interpretation. We sourced all the vintage furniture and artifacts in California, finding most of these treasures in and around Palm Springs.

This property is filled with so many stunning pieces, each with their own story. From the living room wall sculpture and floor lamp, to the vintage table in the dining room, to the vintage Lucite chandelier, walking through this home is like walking through international design history.

Because this is Southern California, the outdoors are as important and used as the indoors. For the outdoor living areas we chose a line of furniture with a retro elegance. With its 70's cool silhouettes, inspired adaptation of Vienna Straw and groovy needlework pillows, it created a fresh, modern approach with a vintage feel, yet with no comfort spared.

We have spent a lot of time in Southern California, seeking out specific pieces of furniture and art that would complement the home and reflect our client and her charm. The result is a perfectly composed collection of eclectic pieces that are uniquely Southern California and uniquely her.

“Robert Bailey Interiors was able to seek out the perfect pieces for my new home. I wanted it to feel like it's part of the culture here, so when I'm in Palm Springs, I feel fully that I'm really here.”
